PAT Testing Training Course City & Guilds 2377

This course will provide the knowledge and proof of competence required to carry out electrical appliance testing and inspection.

Training covers the following areas:

• Introduction to Portable Appliance Testing
• Safe working practices
• Code of practice for Portable Appliance Testing
• Insulation and earthing
• Classification of appliances
• Practical knowledge of PAT testing and inspection
• Recording, labelling and documentation
• Practice papers
• Practical assessment

At the end of the course, operatives will sit an online assessment in the format of multiple choice questions and a 30 minute practical assessment.

On successful completion, operatives will gain the City & Guilds 2377-77 In-service Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment certificate.

The PAT testing course is for electricians who are familiar with electrical installations and electrical safety and its associated hazards.

Operatives must provide their date of birth for registration with City & Guilds.

Candidates who have previously gained a City & Guilds qualification must also provide their enrolment number which can be found on existing certificates.

Candidates must purchase a copy of the IET Code of Practice for the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (ISBN 978-0-86341-833-4) and be familiar with its contents as this forms an integral part of the theory, training and assessment.
