Periodic Inspection & Electrical Testing Course – L3 RQF
Logic4training's Periodic Inspection Testing, Condition Reporting and Certification of Electrical Installations training course is for experienced electricians.
This Level 3 LCL Awards qualification is recognised by the Joint Industry Board (JIB) and Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) and the Competent Person Schemes for electrical operatives.
Logic4training runs the industry recognised LCL Awards qualification RQF Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations.
This qualification, along with the RQF L3 Award in Initial Verification & Certification of Electrical Installations qualification form the Inspection and Testing suite of qualifications
By splitting out the qualifications, electricians can specialise in either Inital Verification & Certification or Periodic Inspection of electrical installations.
Alternatively, electricians can attend both courses when the appropriate level of on site experience in each sector has been achieved.
This testing and inspection training course is for experienced electricians who are responsible for periodic inspection and certification of electrical installations.
The course includes training on the following:
- Electricity at Work Regulations
- BS7671 & GN3
- Periodic Inspection and Testing process
- Practical Inspection and Testing process
- Understanding Condition Report codes
- Completion of Condition Report
The course includes the following assessments:-
- A practical assessment
- 2 short response written examination papers which are open book
The LCL Awards assessment is open book and will be completed as part of the course.
The cost of the course includes training, assessment and the certification fee.
LCL Awards is an OFQUAL recognised Awarding Organisation and this qualification is recognised by Competent Person Schemes such as NAPIT, NICEIC, STROMA.
Operatives should hold the City & Guilds 2382 18th Edition Wiring Regulations or equivalent and must have a practical working knowledge of both domestic and commercial electrical installations including 3 phase installations.
Ideally operatives should hold the L3 Award in Initial Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations or equivalent as this knowledge will not be covered.
Operatives should have at least 6 months on site experience of initial inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations, using suitable test equipment and the completion of the relevant forms as per BS7671 including Minor Works Electrical Installation Certificates and Full Electrical Installation Certificates.
Operatives must purchase a copy of the IET Guidance Note 3 on Inspection, Testing and Certification as this forms an essential part of the underpinning knowledge for the written and practical assessments.
