Logic4training delivers the City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (2382-22) course, designed for electricians and other installers (gas engineers, kitchen/bathroom fitters, plumbers and builders) who complete domestic electrical work, such as wiring in a boiler or shower.
Knowledge of 18th Edition, alongside experience and a recognised qualification, is necessary to join a recognised Competent Persons Scheme.
This course is for experienced electricians and those requiring a working knowledge of the British Standard BS7671:2018 (amendment 3:2024) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
18th Edition knowledge is a required for Registered Electrician status, necessary for an Installation or Maintenance Electrician Gold Card, and for installers undertaking domestic electrical work – gas engineers, kitchen fitters, plumbers and builders.
18th Edition alongside experience and a recognised qualification is also needed by Competent Persons Scheme (CPS) members, or those looking to join a CPS.
Training is not mandatory, but the best route to understanding.
The cost of the 18th Edition Course includes training, assessment, registration with City & Guilds and the examination costs.
There are no pre-requisites required, however some experience of electrical installations is essential.
Operatives must provide their date of birth for registration with City & Guilds.
The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations course involves classroom based training , which focuses on the wiring regulations standard BS7671:2018 Amendment 3:2024.
There is no practical element.
Candidates will be required to complete a 60 question multiple choice online exam, which will cover both the existing regulations and the changes
Candidates will require the 18th Edition book (2022 brown cover version) and on-site guide, which is available to purchase at Logic4trade website.
