CMA1 / 3 With MET1 Gas Meter Exchange Initial Training Course

This course is for experienced gas meter installation operatives working for the gas network operators who need to renew the core meter exchange ACS certificates for either CMA1 or CMA3 and whose certificate has expired more than 12 months ago. The course includes the meter exchange appliance MET1.

If your certificate has expired LESS the 12 months ago you will be able to undertake the Re-Assessment route.

This training and assessment package includes training and Initial assessment covering either core domestic meter gas safety (CMA3) plus domestic LP gas meters (MET1) or core domestic & NON Domestic meter gas safety (CMA1) plus domestic LP gas meters (MET1)

This course is for gas meter installers who need to renew or undertake their domestic or Non domestic meter installation ACS qualifications and whose certificate has expired more than 12 months ago.

If your existing qualifications have expired LESS than 12 months ago, you will be able to undertake Re-assessment route for CMA1 or CMA3

Candidates who have never held the ACS before but have transferable skills and experience may be eligible for our Gas Meter Managed Learning Programme but you must be working for a gas meter installation company as a work based portfolio must be completed

Gas safety legislation
Gas emergency actions & procedures
Characteristics of combustion
Ventilation requirements for domestic & commercial appliances
Installation of pipework & fittings
Installation, exchange, removal & commissioning of non domestic and/or domestic gas meters
Tightness testing & purging
Checking and/or setting meter regulators
Identification of unsafe situations and the use of emergency notices & warning labels
The operation of and positioning of emergency isolation controls & valves
Flueing standards
Re-establishing existing gas supply & re-lighting appliances/plant
