Permit to Operate (PTO) Assessments Power only / Gas only / Dual Fuel
Logic4training’s Permit to Operate (PTO) Assessments package is designed for employers/potential employers aiming to establish levels of competency & skill set of their employees/potential employees or for candidates authorisations that require renewal. Candidates can be put forward for the following competencies: Single-Phase, Multi-Rate, Single off Multi-Phase, Multi Phase and/or Gas Low Pressure.
Operatives must be put forward by their employer / potential employer. It is assumed candidates are experienced and skilled metering operatives. This is a 1 day (2 days for dual fuel) assessment package.
Learners will undertake the assessment at our training & assessment centre. This enables learners to be assessed installing and exchanging smart meters in a safe and controlled environment which simulates real work situations.
Candidates will sit a range of test papers in line with their assumed competencies. Enhanced One-on-one practical assessments, including fault finding & customer protocols as outlined in CoMCoP (formally SMIS/SMICOP). Practical assessments were carried out in line with NSAP/employers’ Safe Systems of Work (SSoW). Candidates can be put forward for the following PTO assessment competencies: Single Phase, Multi-rate, Single off Multi-Phase, Multi-Phase and/or Gas Low Pressure.
The price includes EUSR renewal registration.
Permit to Operate (PTO) Assessments are for employers / potential employers aiming to establish levels of competency & skill set of their employees/potential employees or for candidates’ authorisations that require renewal on Single-Phase, Multi-Rate, Single Multi-Phase, Multi-Phase and/or Gas Low pressure. Gas candidates must also be registered with Gas Safe holding valid metering qualifications.
The NSAP competency assessment is split into written and practical elements. The practical part consists of a witnessed in-centre power meter and/or gas low-pressure exchange/installation, including CoMCoP/SMIS/SMICOP questions regarding customer service. The assessment also includes the identification of unsafe situations & reporting and fault finding.
Successful engineers will be able to remain on the EUSR register as certified smart meter installers; gas candidates must also hold relevant ACS qualifications.
Following this course, installers can look to upskill in Gas meters, Power meters, Multi-Phase Meters.
