Director, Mark Krull was interviewed by Ian Wyatt of BBC Eadio Essex last week, where he talked about the amazing competition Logi4training has launched – a ‘lifetime’ of training for one lucky winner prepared to be an ambassador for the building services industry.
Inspired by the format of ‘The Apprentice’, Logic4training is looking for someone with the drive and ambition to make a new career for themselves and build a strong social media following to help promote their business as it grows.
What’s the prize of a ‘lifetime’ of training?
Initially, the winner will be awarded entry-level training in plumbing and heating or domestic electrics with a package worth up to £7,995 to be completed at one of our centres in Northolt, Basildon, Luton or Sittingbourne.
On qualifying, they’ll receive 12 months’ free Checkatrade membership, and a new website and then a training voucher worth £1,000 each year, for ten years, which can be used by the winner or their employed staff as their business grows.
Mark explained on Ian’s show:
“We’re all having to compete now to attract the brightest and best to come and work with us in building services. A recent poll found that 2/5 of young people wouldn’t consider a career in construction, but the skills our learners have are essential and provide a job for life.
“Engineering is a great career – you can take it where you want. There are no glass ceilings, it’s down to the drive of the person working and what they want to achieve. Getting more women into the industry is a priority for us – we work with an organisation called Stopcocks that supports women in the industry – we want everyone to feel there’s a place for them.
“The UK is based on infrastructure and it’s estimated that a quarter of a million extra workers will be needed in the construction industry by 2026. We’ve been training people for twenty years and we want to help someone grow and succeed in our industry and to follow their progress.”
Ian asked Mark who the competition is aimed at. Mark said:
“It’s open to anyone who wants to take part. You might be a college leaver, or a career changer. No previous experience is necessary; you just need to show us you’ve got the passion to build yourself a rewarding career.”
Ian also wanted to know whether anyone would get fired! Mark explained:
“For the shortlisted candidates there will be boardroom style interview with Kevin (Kevin Budd, Logic4training’s MD), myself and one of our media team to see whether they’ve got what it takes to build a business and whether they have the ability to interact on social media, to help us promote our fantastic industry. We want to follow our winner’s story.
“Nobody’s going to get fired, but there’s going to be a winner and the prize will set them up for the future.”
