Gas Training for Experienced Trades

The Gas Managed Learning Programme is available at our Northolt, Luton, Basildon, or Sittingbourne Centres.

There are no entry requirements for this course, but we will assess candidates to check their suitability. A good understanding of maths and English is essential.

Yes, it is possible to complete the course on weekends. The Gas Managed Learning Programme can be completed on weekends at our Northolt Centre and would take 3 months to complete.

After successful completion of the Domestic Gas Heating Installer New Entrants Route, you will gain the following qualifications and certificates:

Health & Safety Courses

• Asbestos Awareness – online course certificate
• Manual Handling – online course certificate
• Fire Safety – online course certificate
• Working at Heights – online course certificate
• Working Safely – online course certificate

Gas Managed Learning Programme

• CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety, including CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis)
• CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
• Water Regulation & Bylaws Qualification
• Hot Water Systems & Safety (Unvented Hot Water Systems) Qualification
• LCL Awards Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating Qualification

Essential Site Skills & Boiler Fault Finding Courses

• There are no formal assessments. You will receive Logic4training Certificates upon completing these courses.

If you are looking to work on the following appliances, you must wait the mandatory 12 months from your ACS completion date and be Gas Safe Registered. 

CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers/Hot Water Heaters (CPA1 required)

CKR1 – Cookers

HTR1 – Space Heaters (including Gas Fires and Wall Heaters) (CPA1 required)

DAH1 – Warm Air Heaters

MET1 – Meters

LAU1 – Tumble Dryers

REGT1 – Medium Pressure Meter Regulators

LEI1 – Domestic Gas Fired Leisure Equipment (Appliance range: barbecues, greenhouse heaters, refrigerators, gas pokers, gas lighting and patio heaters)

Classes can have a maximum of 10 people. We like to keep our class sizes small, so that you have more contact time with your trainer.

Yes. After completing your Gas Managed Learning Programme, you can apply to join the Gas Safe Register.

When speaking to your course advisor, let them know that you want to spread the course cost, and they can help you start the process. More information can be found here.

All tools and equipment are provided during this course. However, you will need to bring hard steel toe-capped boots for when you are in the workshop. In some circumstances, candidates may bring their own test equipment if they so desire, but please check beforehand.

Logic4training will supply reading material and textbooks on the first day of attendance; however, it is a good idea to bring in pens, highlighters, and sticky notes.
